Lisäksi tilaisuudessa keskustellaan kansallisista toimista vastuullisen arvioinnin edistämiseksi / The Responsible Assessment day offers presentations, discussions and information on current topics of responsible assessment, and provides updates on national measures to advance responsible assessment.

12.00 Keynote: Ludo Waltman (CWTS/Leiden): University rankings - The culture change agenda in the Netherlands
University rankings present a complex dilemma for many universities. On the one hand many universities feel they need to participate in the rankings to strengthen their reputation and to be more attractive for (international) students. On the other hand universities increasingly feel dissatisfied with the performance criteria used by university rankings and the pressures resulting from these criteria. To address this complex dilemma, the universities in the Netherlands have jointly adopted an agenda for culture change regarding the way they deal with university rankings. In this talk I will present this culture change agenda and I will discuss the ongoing implementation of the agenda.

Keynote-puhujat:
Ludo Waltman is a professor of Quantitative Science Studies and deputy director at the Centre for Science and Technology Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University. He is also affiliated with the Research on Research Institute (RoRI). His work focuses on infrastructures, algorithms, and tools to support research assessment, science policy, and scholarly communication. Ludo is a member of the board of ASAPbio, chair of the advisory board of OpenCitations, and coordinator of the Initiative for Open Abstracts (I4OA). Together with his colleague Nees Jan van Eck, Ludo has developed the well-known VOSviewer software for bibliometric visualization. Ludo is the coordinator of the CWTS Leiden Ranking, a bibliometric ranking of major universities worldwide. In addition, Ludo served as the Founding Editor-in-Chief of the journal Quantitative Science Studies.
